Hey there Blog,
So I had my introduction day at university yesterday. It started at 9:45am so it took the 8:30 train so I could be there on time, because I wasn't sure how long walking from the train station would take to the adress on the letter. Of course I was early so I spent my 30 remaining minutes smoking a cigarette and listening to some jazz on my ipod. At 9:45 I went inside and sat down. It was pretty impressive for it was set in an old Lutherian church, turned into a place were classes were given. Anyhoo it started at 10:15 so I sat there for half an hour. I got talking with a nice girl who was going to study Swedish, and while talking to her, a friend of mine, Romee, showed up, so it was really nice to see a familiar face. For about 3 hours there were professors and students talking about some stuff, which was kind of fascinating and boring at the same time.
At noon, they said they had a lunch prepaired for us, which was a sandwich, an appel, a carton of milk and something else. I didn't want to seem ungratefull, but after three hours of listening, I needed something else. So Naturally Romee and I took the lunch hour-liberty to roam the streets of Amsterdam to find a McDonalds, and we did. After lunch there was like a two hour seminar about the study I had chosen, while the other studies departed. That was also kind of boring but it was nice, to have some specifics after a morning filled with general blabbing.
After that, we got split into five groups, and an older student would guide us to the two buildings where we will be having classes, and let's just say that they were old, confusing and wierd. I'm not trying to be spoiled or something but I was expecting a little more glam from a university...
After THAT, we were meeting two professors in two 45 minute classes. We started with litterature, which I love, and we had an interesting discussion about a poem. When that class ended, we had a class on collocations... Something that has always been my problem is that I can't learn grammar, because I do it right automatically. Of course I make mistakes but I mean come on! You can give me a collocation and I'll do it correctly, but if you ask me what one is...
(I'm also aware of the fact that my blog is/might be filled with grammar/spelling errors) (Whatever)
It was emotiannly draining and after that second class I decided to go home. There were drinks for new students in the other building but it wasn't mandatory.
Now I'm sitting at my desk in my cozy, non scary room trying to figure out how to make my student pass, which is utter bullshit! It like a friggin arts and crafts test. I tried calling a friend about it, and there is some shit with a plastic sticker and ARGH! IT"S NOT WORKING!
Anyhoo, I'd better get to ordering my books and all.
I hope I'll have a great time but so far, I feel bored, annoyed and tired.
Hugs&kisses
Adios mis amigos.
